Instructions for sending canine blood samples to Finland:

Genetic Research for Hereditary Diseases at the University of Helsinki

Information for Veterinarians:

• Please collect 5-10 ml of blood in a purple topped EDTA-tube
• Label the tube with the following information: Dog’s register name, registration number, breed and date
• Invert the tube (8-10) times to prevent clotting
• Ship to the address at the bottom of this page. Please let us know to expect your sample by email in advance (ranja.eklund@helsinki.fi)
• Two to three day delivery services are suitable. However, schedule the shipment so that it will NOT arrive during a weekend or holiday period

All information regarding the dog´s or owner´s names will be kept confidential. Results will be released only by the owner´s consent.
